Edge-ing Your Textile Creation- (2 Day) – Supplies

– At least 8 or more fat-quarters that will be used in place of a quilt top. Muslin is preferred so that you can see the quilting patterns that you will develop.  However, if you prefer, you can substitute with fat-quarters of some light colored unprinted fabric.

– Same number of thin batting (Warm and Natural or similar), also fat-quarter size

– Same number of backing fabric fat-quarters.  Muslin is also good, or any low priced fabrics that can serve as a backing.

– Approximately 1 yard of contrasting unprinted fabric that will be used for borders, bordings and bindings.

– Thread for the quilting step.  Make sure the thread is a totally different value than the fabric you brought for #1, so that the quilting is visible.

– Machine Sewing Needles – 70/10 and 80/12

– Sewing Machine with and Embroidery foot (wide open toe used for zigzag) and a Darning foot (free motion foot).  Do NOT forget the electric cord and foot pedal!!!

– Bobbins for thread to be used in the quilting step.  Pre-fill at least one with a medium color (grey or beige)

– Fabric scissors, ruler, square, rotary cutter and board

– Pins (I prefer the very thin 1-1 ¼” silk pins)

– Flower head straight pins (colored), a few if different colors.

– Small quilters” safety pins

– Sharpie Fine and Extra Fine Permanent Marker, black
