If color is important, then Value is the key to creating exceptional art quilts. This workshop focuses on the important tools for creating inspirational botanicals, landscapes, and portraits. It will provide an over view of color harmony, color theory, the psychology of color and the expressive aspects of color and value. I will then focus on Value. Students will see value and color in a new way. They will learn how to create Grace’s “Periodic Table of Value and Color” a must have tool for all art quilters. Grace provides the fabrics for 8-value grey scale as a part of the materials in the class.

Creative Threadwork- Drawing and Painting with Thread (Quilters’ Paradise)

This is a fun class that is easier than you would ever guess.  This technique is applicable for quilts, garments and home decorating.  With your free motion machine foot, you will create your own appliqués by embroidering designs that you will later, be able to attach onto the quilt, vest or jacket.  You might even use this technique to create greeting cards, pillows, memory books and probably many other things that I have not thought about.
